Doesn’t mention the fact that the vast majority of the traffic just moved to other Irish ports.
Same with “OMG 12% drop in RORO!”… yes, that would explain the 12% increase in LOLO.
Actual traffic for Ireland as a whole is within a couple of percent of last year.
Ire/GB traffic down 20%, Ire/EU traffic up 33% in same period.
There was also some sort of Pandemic during that time which meant less orders, less trucks on the road and ports.
who bets at least another 20% in the next year?
This is good news. It was utterly stupid to send goods from the continent to Ireland via UK’s roads. The result for us is less pollution and fewer lorries on the motorways then the more that shifts the better.
