Just quick rant as supposed visit to Galway University Hospital (GUH) tomorrow by the benevolent Stephen Donnelly. We have patients under our care >6 days in a cubicle in red ED waiting for a ward bed. Some awaiting procedures which can’t be performed until get a ward bed.
GUH have allegedly cancelled elective surgeries tomorrow (which is not a rare occurence at all). But will be interesting to see as GUH as 54 patients waiting on trolleys as of this evening (2nd highest in the country next to Limerick the Man City of this league table), according to IMNO trolley watch.[https://www.inmo.ie/Trolley_Ward_Watch](https://www.inmo.ie/Trolley_Ward_Watch)
Where will management put the patients?
They are running out of corridors for public tax payers that deserve so much more.
Anyway begin to realise why shows like yes, Minister stand the test of time, nothing changes!

The broom cupboard or top to tail in a ward bed.
I never understand why hospitals try to hide this? Surely it’s important for him to see how dire the situation is?
