Switzerland is reportedly moving forward with a constitutional amendment to integrate Bitcoin (BTC) into its national financial system, having entered the signature phase.

On the 31st, cryptocurrency-focused media outlet Bitcoin Magazine reported, “A constitutional amendment to integrate Bitcoin into the national financial system has been proposed,” adding, “This has been published in the official gazette as the first step, and the signature procedure has begun as the next step.”

Meanwhile, for the proposed amendment to succeed, a certain number of signatures from Swiss voters must be secured. It is expected that 100,000 signatures will be needed within 18 months for a national initiative to amend the constitution. Once enough signatures are gathered, it will proceed to a national referendum.
