For a heavily populated nation with not much landmass, it’s remarkable how much open spaces/countryside we can enjoy.
It’s something we take for granted, but we could’ve easily just paved over our countryside and become a massive American-style suburb.
I honestly think we need to start building upwards rather than outwards to solve our housing crisis whilst preserving open spaces – apartment living should become less of a taboo and is already normal in many other European countries.
We should also reforest much of our farmland – would help tackle climate change and mitigate the impact of flooding incidents.
