The districts of Viseu, Bragança, Guarda and Vila Real will remain under an orange weather warning until Wednesday due to the persistence of fog, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

The orange warning in the districts in the northern interior of mainland Portugal has been active since Saturday, given the forecast of persistent fog, “especially in valley areas, with icicle formation”, according to IPMA.

The now-extended orange warning is valid until 12pm on Wednesday.

The institute also extended the yellow warning for these four districts due to the cold weather, with “persistent low minimum temperature values”, valid until 10am on Wednesday.
