31st December 2024 – (Vienna) A Ryanair flight heading to Vienna from Riga was forced to land in the Czech Republic late on Monday, after experiencing GPS difficulties and poor visibility. The Irish airline confirmed that the flight diverted to Brno as a precautionary measure.

According to Austrian media, the disruption was attributed to a GPS signal interference over Poland, linked to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. Passengers were informed of this situation by the flight’s captain, although Ryanair’s official statement referred only to a “minor technical issue” with the GPS system and low visibility conditions in Vienna.

The Airbus A320, operating under the Lauda brand, landed safely in Brno, where passengers were subsequently transported to Vienna by bus.
