I’m absolutely not going to the bog this year… with global warming think of the heat and the miggies

It’s great exercise though. And the smell of turf burning…no finer smell.
€130 for three hoppers of turf, its been keeping two stoves going since October and i’ve enough to keep me going for another 3 weeks. can’t be beaten
Went from 30 euro fuel in the car a week for not much driving last may to now putting almost 50 into it for near enough the same driving. Love that. If only my salary increases by the same percentage.
Sure aren’t they trying to ban chimneys now so we have to use their duty laden sources of heating. Won’t be happy until we’re back around barrel fires eating nettle soup.
150 euro of turf does my 3 bed semi for the whole year in a Stanley Erin burner. Rads and water tank hot every day. Its a blessing at the minute. This government has lost the plot on the price of energy.
I would rather freeze than burn peat. Never understood why people insist on destroying the tiny bit of nature we have left in this country.
