I am from the west so I don’t know what to believe from the media here. So asking here.

How does this end? What is really happening in Ukraine 🇺🇦?

Behind the scenes I heard of rumours of a negotiated peace treaty where Ukraine must remain neutral, no weapons from other countries and can’t be invaded or join NATO.

Seem likely? Or are we looking at things escalating into World War 3?

  1. Russians – who are not for mutual destruction – will assassinate Putin when he attempts to use nuclear weapons on Ukraine. A reasonable leader will take over, withdraw from Ukraine and attempt to smooth over the rest of the world with promises and reparations. Russians live with guilt for decades as their economy slowly recovers from Putlers big fuck up.

  2. Best case scenario is someone in Russian government or military assassinates Putin before the situation escalates any further.
Worst case scenario the west lets Ukraine slowly die out and wither away from the Russian attacks until the government gives up or is killed. Then they will have an excuse to invade Russia and kick off WW3.

  3. Probably in the next few months Russia will put in place martial law, get more and more isolated on their own, start having lack of goods, realise they did many bad choices but still won’t understand why we all hate their politics, start starving in the summer, internal arguments will unfold into widespread demonstrations of even previous supporters. Overthrow Putin just before Christmas.
2023 will find Russians with a “wtf went wrong” reaction, admit their loss and move on.

This, to me, seem to be a war pushed by the few in hope that it will get others involved but China’s moves so far tell me they’re alone in this afterall.
I also find interesting that USA seem to put more weight on the other side, looking at China, aiding Australia. I find that easy to miss when all this russian invasion in ukraine is unravelling.

I also think that here in EU things won’t be great either. Lack of goods, maybe some conflict in the Baltics will affect us too. As for Ukraine? For now they’ll be occupied. I see it as a war that leads to guerilla war and I think Ukrainians will do well (when you’re attacked you have nothing to lose) but I do think that Russians will try to inflict civil war and from our Greek experience it’s the worst form of war. The destruction runs deep for decades and in many levels.

Btw, we get the same info you get.
Both sides lie, Russia way more than the west.
It’s easy to believe and disbelieve everything. We have to be careful about that the next several months.

  4. **Russia will not be able to hold onto Ukraine** even if they take over it. At best where talking about a bloody war, like Afghanistan, that will go on for decades (except this time your fighting against an Army that has an unlimited supply of high end weaponry), and sooner or later Russia will have to call quits, either due to lack of equipment, money, or Putin being over thrown.

There won’t be a world war 3 because what Ukraine war has shown us is that Russia’s equipment is trash and their own troop morality too low. There are whole battalions just dropping their arms in Ukraine. **Putin’s game is trying to bluff and try, spread propaganda and fear**. If it would somehow break out Russia would be alone against the whole world. Even China would use the opportunity to take over some of that sweet Russian land.

All those region that Russia occupied, would also take this opportunity to fight and become independent. It would not be surprising if in a few months they would start doing this anyway, even without a world war 3, as Russia’s army is being exhausted, and the internal situation of Russia would be favourable.

Unless Russia starts Nuking everyone, then there is no way they could win, which they won’t because if you start Nuking then there’s no Russia either. **Putin has a family** and he won’t condemn his own children and grandchildren to certain death.

  5. In two weeks Russia will capture Kiev and Zelenskyy will either be imprisoned or exiled to Western Europe. Then Russia will officially annex Crimea and some extra territory that will connect Crimea with Transinstria and DPR and LPR, also it will install a pro-Russian government. The US not wanting the war to continue will accept it and so will the EU.
