  1. Honestly, peaceful protests just dont work against dictators. Georgians need to actually start doing stuff instead of just peaceful protests if they want to achieve something.

  2. The President of Georgia Salomè Zourabichvili joined the protests to stand with the people in this fight, while Georgian Dream officials and PM Irakli Kobakhidze claim that ‘they can’t gather people to protest,’ despite the protests continuing unabated for over a month.

  3. I hope that this year will be the right one for the Georgian people to finally be able to breathe and hope for a future with us. They must continue the fight.

  4. What is the situation regarding the presidency if Salomè Zourabichvili has refused to abdicate the post and yet Georgian Dream have elected Mikheil Kavelashvili. Is there going to be a showdown at the presidential palace at some point?

  5. Bring the Gudastviri, boys, we’ll sing another song

Sing it with a spirit that will bring the West along

Sing it as we used to sing it

    Fifty-thousand strong

While we were marching through Georgia!

Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the Jubilee!

Hurrah! Hurrah! The flag that makes you free!

So we sang the chorus from Tbilisi to the sea

While we were marching through Georgia!

European Union supporters wept with joyful tears,

    When they saw the honored flag finally over here;

Hardly could they be restrained from breaking forth in cheers,

While we were marching through Georgia!

Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the Jubilee!

Hurrah! Hurrah! The flag that makes you free!

So we sang the chorus from Tbilisi to the sea

While we were marching through Georgia!

So we held the banners up

    To oppose the Tsar’s reign

Five Red Crosses, The Blue Compass, and stars to break our chains!

Treason fled before us, resistance was in vain,

While we were marching through Georgia!

Hurrah! Hurrah! We bring the Jubilee!

Hurrah! Hurrah! The flag that makes you free!

So we sang the chorus from Tbilisi to the sea

    While we were marching,

    While we were marching,

    While we were marching,

While we were marching through Georgia!

  6. What a shame we have a lot of EU countries that are openly pro russian and then you have Georgia with this many people hoping that one day they will escape Russia’s influence and join EU.

A lot of europeans take EU for granted and dont realise how hard is for a country to be alone and isolated.

  7. Georgia and Ukraine will be in NATO, and Russia can’t do anything about it.

  8. That’s an incredible photo, wish EU citizens had as much passion for Europe, as Georgia does. Hope the new year might bring positive change for Georgian people, they deserve so much.

  9. We see this in Tsibilisi but what is the sentiment of people outside of the capital? It’s like Hungary, Budapest is strongly pro EU but in the countryside majority voted for Orban
