“We are excited to be in Rome and see the diving. We have never been here before at New Year’s and we had a very good New Year’s and we hope that all divers make it safely into the river and yeah we hope for a very good New Year for Rome and Italy.”
Marco Fois was this year’s “Mr. Ok”, a traditional title he inherited from Maurizio Palmulli, a famous veteran diver who retired last year.
The annual Tiber Dive has been celebrated on the first day of the new year since 1946. This year three divers took the plunge off the Cavour bridge in the centre of the Italian capital.
