Hi everyone !

On Tuesday, I’m **interviewing Portuguese MEP Margarida Marques**, from the **Socialists and Democrats** **group**, on my Twitch channel. I will be asking her about her EU political experience, her priorities, but also asking some of your questions and those of the audience.

Margarida Marques has been a Portuguese MEP since 2019. She’s a Vice-Chair in the Committee on Budgets, a member of the Committee on International Trade and a substitute in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs .

Within these committees, she **works mostly on the revision of the 2021-2027 budget**, economic governance and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism .

The aim of these interviews is for people to discover their MEPs, learn about what they do, their expertise and interact with them. It is intended as a pedagogic way to learn about your representatives in Brussels and EU politics, so we won’t go deep into policy debates and **we won’t cover national politics** (unless it is very relevant to the EU).

While most of my current community belongs to the EU bubble, I want to reach people who might be interested in the EU without being in Brussels, so they get a chance to exchange with people and experts from there and maybe learn some new things along the way. In this precise case, since the MEP is Portuguese I thought it would make sense to give Portuguese people the opportunity to pitch in 🙂

So feel free to **suggest down here questions you would like Margarida Marques to answer** !

In any case, join the discussion **tomorrow at 20:30** CET on [Twitch](https://www.twitch.tv/mepassistant) !

  1. Why is there so much attention to the conflict in Ukraine and so little attention to all those suffering in countries like Yemen? Including the willingness of countries like Poland to welcome refugees with open arms while doing the opposite for Afghan and/or Syrian refugees?

  2. Porquê horário CET se isto foi colocado no Portugal? Ver se a malta se confunde com as horas e não está cá toda a gente?

  3. Is the conflict in Ucraine an opportunity to address the EU shortcomings in uniting the electrical and gas grids of all member states, in particular through the Pyrenees?
Do national interests of states like France undermine the economic interest of the eurozone as a whole?
Should import tax policies consider the energy mix of the exporting countries as well as the exploitation of workers in exporting countries?
