Jessica Bowes’ claim she was refused entry to Dunnes Stores for being a single mum is rejected by equality hearing

  1. Dunnes are a family shop. Happy families. Maybe single people need shopping, we don’t know. Frankly, we don’t want to know.

  2. >Jessica Bowes claimed at an equality hearing that she overheard a security guard at the store call a manager and say: “I have a single mother here, can I let her in?”

    >The manager of the supermarket said he came to the entrance of the store to find a “huge scene” and that he “couldn’t get a word in edgeways” as Ms Bowes was shouting and speaking over him.

This during the very first lockdown. What a stupid conniving bitch. One of those legal cases you could just dismiss without looking at any evidence or listening to any statements. Obviously Dunnes Stores doesn’t give a shit about your marital status jfc.

  3. Imagine being so conceited that you conceive the notion that a security guard at a supermarket is conspiring against you based on your martial status. She got what she deserved, publicly called out and shamed. This bullshit needs to be called out more often to deter other wet brains from following suit.

  4. Love the comment from the adjudicating officer when yer one was cross-examining a witness:

“You’re not even listening to me now. I appreciate this is difficult but as I said before we have the whole day for this, there is no rush. You’re here to admonish the respondent for showing you discourtesy. I respectfully suggest you’re not showing them much courtesy,” he said.

  5. No idea whether her story is true or not, but to compare it to Magdalene Laundries is absolutely disgraceful.

  6. The highlight of the story for me is that despite her apparently studying law, she missed the time constraint to even bring this legal action. However Dunnes insisted it be allowed in the court list because they wanted to clear their good name, credit to them for that.

I’m sure she had a tough time of it with that violent domestic abuse case. That said to speak to a security guard the way she did “Are you stopping me?” accusing him of victimising her, she sounds like a real piece of work.

  7. Was in the same class as Jessica in school, she was an attention seeker even back then, guess things haven’t changed much.

She caused a big drama on our last day of primary school and wrecked the day for everyone.

  8. Jessica doesn’t know the meaning of hardship. And suggesting it was like one of the laundries shows her flair for over dramatics and he minimisation of true hardship

  9. I can’t tell if this was meant to be quick money/fame or if she was really just high from having her head up her arse.

    no wonder she’s single

  10. >Although the matter was brought to the WRC after the time limit on cases had expired, Mr O’Neill was told that Dunnes Stores wanted the matter heard.

It was at that point she should have known she fucked up. If Dunnes wanted it heard means they knew they were in the right and onto an easy win.

  11. Her ex Thomas Mulligan was a gent. Played for Dublin a few times.
Mullo’s suicide and then what the other partner did to her, you could forgive her not thinking straight.

  12. I’m not defending her, however, it appears she was the victim of a horrible domestic abuse relationship/incident a few years ago, that can really mess with your psyche and she probably does think after all that trauma that the world is indeed out to get her. I also get why she was annoyed she couldn’t take her kids into shop with her when realistically there probably was no other option other than to leave them home alone….and she just totally misread the entire situation-I’d say she’s stressed and messed to high fuck given her past experiences and immediately blew it out of water. She probably needs some help to take her back down to earth a bit….
