He didn’t even kill anyone with the bow. All the people who were murdered were killed with a knife.

It’s worth to point out that Norway in fact has some of the most liberal gun laws in Europe. You can legally collect weapons in Norway as a private person and own pistols and hand guns, which isn’t the case in many European countries. One of my cousins collects pistols, and it’s perfectly legal here.
All the guns used by Breivik was acquired legally by him.
It was never revealed to the public what type of bow and arrow the assailant in Kongsberg used, but it might have been a modern compound bow or a crossbow. Unlike guns, crossbows are illegal to own in Norway, even medieval replica crossbows. Neither crossbows or bows are legal hunting weapons either.
To sum up, it might have been easier, and legal, for the Kongsberg assailant to acquire a gun, and Norwegian gun laws have nothing to do with his decisions to use a bow or crossbow.
I think if Norway treated their working class in America does, the murder rates would be about equal. Gun violence in America is largely a symptom of their society being split and unforgiving, if you break a leg in America — you better have good enough insurance or you’re not walking again. In Norway, healthcare is free. Aquiring a gun in Norway is harder than in America, but it is not impossible, and anyone willing to do harm could do it if they just put a few months into getting a hunting license.
Norway has a very egalitarian society, much more than America. People have a much higher degree of social mobility. Naturally our crime rates reflect this, including murder rates. The moral of the story isn’t that guns are bad, it’s that letting capitalism run rampant is bad. You need social policies in place to make sure everyone can fit into society. Of course, extremism will still exist, but they will make up a much smaller demographic.
How dumb can you be. All the officials from the us that have come to learn about the systems that nurture preventive measures and real help for criminals to get back into society look totally confused. Like it just goes right over their head.
Im talking about documentaries where americans from the justice systems aswell as prisons have traveled to norway to learn what we are doing to better themselves. They all have the same look when being explained what we do, like they are being told something that cant possibly be true.
I’m fairly certain we don’t have “some of the strictest gun laws around”. It’s actually fairly easy to obtain a weapon, and [according to Wikipedia we actually rank 17 out of 230 countries](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estimated_number_of_civilian_guns_per_capita_by_country?wprov=sfla1). All you really need is a hunting license or be member of a shooting club. There’s also certain requirements, like that you need to have a proper gun cabinet where they will be locked away when not in use, you cannot store ammo and weapons together, and the weapons cannot be weapons designed for warfare such as fully automatic weapons.

She comes from a very conservative part of the state of Colorado, aligned herself with Trump, and was elected to the House of Representatives by a narrow margin.
