Profiteering on rent prices at time of housing shortage is morally reprehensible too. What are you doing about it, Micheál?
Wake up, lad. The wholesale cost of oil is now US$130/barrel and still rising. Plus there are large taxes on every liter sold. If you want to help ordinary people, then drop the awful taxes on fuel.
You been taoiseach is morally reprehensible.
You crawled in on the sixth count.

Profiteering on war, food, medicine and shelter is morally reprehensible but here we are.
The money was just resting in my wife’s bank account
Send the army in to nationalise Circle K
It’s about sending a message
That’ll learn ’em!
If only he was In a position to do something about it.
Taxing fuel at a time of war… morally reprehensible
Diesel in MHR’s station is the most expensive in my area. 15c more than the cheapest, and 5-10 more than the average.
Prices this morning same as yesterday. Where’d that 20cent go
Oh it’s just morals, so we’ll do nothing about it, sorry
Never let war stand in the way of profit (sarcasm).
Surly the market will fix it’s self Micheal
*I’m so angry by this, I think, I will only return 37 FF TDs the next election instead of 38 TDs* – Irish public
I find it odd that he uses this language: “At time of war”. Are we are war?
The word profiteering looks too similar to profiteroles …yes that’s all the input I have here.
‘But that’s our speciality..’ – Corporations
It’s almost like our entire energy system shouldn’t be beholden to multinational oil and gas corporations with a proven track record of being some of the scummiest organisations on earth.
Wonder if any of these politicians in FFG will make the connection between our exposure to these price hikes, and their decades of opposing large scale investment in sustainable, domestic energy.
Also, fucking lol at the government suddenly learning that supply side economics is nonsense. Slashing regulations and taxes for big companies mostly just makes those companies richer, with few of the benefits being enjoyed by the consumer. Same goes for everything from housing, to manufacturing, to food production. The solution is not to bow to the demands of fuel companies, but to target supports directly at the most vulnerable people, plus implement measures to help people reduce their overall energy consumption, without significantly affecting quality of life.
