>A spokesperson said the UK had taken “urgent action” to process visas while “carrying out vital security checks”.

>Speaking on BBC One’s Question Time, Mr Prystaiko pointed out that most of those trying to get into the UK were women with children, as Ukrainian men were staying behind to fight.

>”I hope they’re not posing any terrorist threat to the UK,” he said, adding: “I hope and beg the procedures will be dropped, every bureaucratic red tape should be cancelled.”
The government wants to cut red tape and checks on the safety of food and businesses but increases red tape on the entry of refugees from war. They delay oligarchs getting punished by giving them time to avoid sanction but also delay refugees of a war. The Tories priorities are clear.
I work for a housing association with just under 12000 properties. during the first lockdowns we housed every single homeless person we could, but there were hundreds the we couldn’t and it was heartbreaking knowing that we couldn’t do more, there was way more people needing accommodation than there was housing.
I’d like to know what government has planned in terms of accommodation for the refugees it plans to take in. unless they intend on buying out more hotels, but I’m not sure how that would be feasible long term.
Ben Wallace said on good morning Britain, on Tuesday we could take in an unlimited number of people, which is great, but how does he plan to accommodate them.
Forget it man, the Brits lllllove red tape. And queuing.
Why would they end it? They were elected specifically to make it as hard as possible for any foreigners to get in, especially poor ones and refugees.
This might look bad to anyone with morals or a heart but to tories its going exactly as planned.
Please see the UNs replacement migration agenda. The UK doesn’t not want white refugees.
Can I have an end to bureaucratic red tape for my wifes visa? Probably not, but then again, she isn’t white, only has a masters degree and is a qualified teacher.
Stop calling red tape racism – because that’s what this is from priti patel and the like.
If they do this, it’s essentially just proof that leaving all those Syrians and other refugees from the Middle East to drown was nothing more than racism. Suddenly making the process easier when it’s a white country being attacked is a really bad look.
It should still happen, but they need to explain themselves. People have been calling for more assistance for refugees for years now, and no one gave a shit until two weeks ago.
But I thought Brexit was cutting all the EU red tape??!
Can our government for once just once do the right thing and not embarrass us?!
