Idiotic…..Every company of decent size has continuity of operations planning ready to go, someone dies and the remaining team knows who does what, so business continues. CEO’s die, team moves along. In this case, security $$$ will be applied to the cost of doing business, but that’s to be expected.
There are and have been only a few CEOs that really set a company apart and are worth what they are paid.
Oh good, this crap again. Someone who has no idea what a CEO does espousing nonsensical beliefs about what a CEO does. OP, this is fucking stupid.
Not in favor of violence AT ALL, but I do think CEO pay is disgusting and immoral. I think they get paid like this to give the illusion that they are special. Most really aren’t.
If ceo’s were so critical Elmo wouldn’t be living at Mar a Lago
Good CEOs are hard to find and make companies billions of dollars. When you give someone 5% of the billions of dollars they generate it is a lot of money. Also you have to pay them or they will go somewhere else. If i am deciding to be CEO and burger king offers 100 M in equity and mcdonalds offers 5M in equity I am going to go to burger king to be CEO.
Forgot this place became r/antiwork a while ago. You people are insane.
No serious person thinks that the whole corporation crumbles the next day after a CEO is killed. You’re all fools and murderer-apologists.
I’m certain most of you all are anti-2nd amendment and anti-death penalty, but not for your political enemies, right?? That’s called terrorism, friends.
It’s just a carrot for the rat race
The job AI can most easily replace is management.
##Automate the 1%
They are mostly set dressing for the illusion anyway.
They hired another one the next day at twice the cost and paid out 500 million to his widow. Your cost is going up 10%, minions.
This guy is not like Elon 😂
No impact on the company whatsoever? The stock lost over $100,000,000,000 in market cap the days following the alleged murder.

There are a lot of kool-ade drinkers in the comments.
People really think CEO’s do stuff that matters.
We know they don’t because they never go on strike. Ever.
Bankers went on strike in Ireland. You know what happened? Nothing. No one cared.
Atlas can shrug or die or whine like a child who realizes mommy society had been lying to them about how special they were and it won’t make a difference.
Wealth is theater and that’s why they need big salaries. But this play is falling apart and people want to blame others but CEO’s, the wealthy, the powerful, they can only act within the confines of their role and their role is not to change anything, it’s to preserve the illusion of wealth and power.
Wealthy folks can’t make life better for millions because society’s current script requires millions to suffer.
There are better scripts
What a stupid take.
AI is the new CEO. Just like a flesh and blood CEO it has no soul but you can’t assassinate it.
Look to the actions and behavior of members of boards of directors who are the people who literally have money at stake in these decisions.
There are actual flesh and blood human beings with their own money who are saying that compensating their CEOs incredibly highly is the best decision they can make regarding their corporate investment. Money that could have otherwise gone to paying higher dividends, engaging in stock buybacks, or otherwise simply investing more into the development of their company. I don’t mean to insinuate that members of boards of directors are infallible in their reasoning, but it is worth serious consideration that they sincerely believe CEO compensation methods that are commonplace is the best use of their own money.
But yes, CEOs are replaceable, just with other similarly compensated CEOs.

Part of a CEOs job is to groom a replacement from day 1. It isn’t as simple as stepping over his body.
