On my window there is this valve or notch that I can leave open or close. It lets outside air to come in. What is the purpose of this?
And sometimes I notice water accumulates on it, should I open my windows more or is it unrelated? I do open all windows once a day for 5-10 minutes.
Might not be the best sub to ask, but I have not seen these anywhere else.

  1. I assume you have a double window? Should help vent the air from between the windows and into the room to help balance moisture etc., but honestly, I don’t know how much they help.

  2. Humidity regulation

    Its supposed to open more when the air is very humid (thats atleast how ours works, maybe yours is manual)
