More like “obviously not seen many Welsh people…” (I believe her grandma was Spanish, but the point still stands)

  1. The Welsh are beautiful.

    As are the Irish.

(Yeah, Welshman married to an Irish queen)

  2. When you want to see a nationality as attractive you’ll ignore all the evidence to the contrary, and vice versa

  3. Forgive me for not remembering the details but when the Romans came to Wales, a Roman historian made references to the people in South Wales as “Iberians” but it wasn’t clear as to how he came to make that reference. Modern DNA testing has established that people from South Wales with long term ancestry in the region have DNA that originates from the Iberian peninsula.

  4. Im South Welsh. I think I read somewhere that there is also some kind of Spanish dna mixed in with us Welsh. I see some Welsh with darker skin than others. So who knows eh !

  5. I’m Spanish, I look Spanish: dark long hair, brown eyes. I moved to Wales 10 years ago.

I found a group of Welsh people who were practising in Spanish so I spoke in Spanish to them. Their first response was: “your Spanish is really good to be Welsh”.

    I responded” I’m not Welsh, I’m Spanish”.

I asked them why they thought I was Welsh and they told me that there is a massive Welsh community around the centre that they all looked like me: “mediterranean”.

  6. Englishman (grew up close to the border) married to a Welsh woman.
The lads where I grew up had this saying or idea about English girls being fine to mess around with while you’re young but when you want to settle down, get over the border and find yourself a Welsh girl. They’re better, they’re hotter and they’re more fun.
    (Something like that).
I did just that, and damn if they weren’t spot on.
My Welsh wife is the best thing that ever happened to me and the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met. Waaay outta my league.

  7. A lot of foreign genetics came into Wales through Tiger Bay.

  8. Irish here. She’s looks Welsh to me. OK she also looks Southern Continental too. But people forget classic insular Celtic looks feature black hair. I think of a stereotypical ’Welsh’ look being Ioan Gruffudd, Matthew Rhys, Luke Evans, Richard Burton etc. All dark hair. You see something similar across these isles in the likes of Sean Connery, James McEvoy, Andrew Scott and Pierce Brosnan. A good lookin’ lot. 😄

  9. Isn’t there a thing in Ireland where a bunch of Spanish people got stranded in the Spanish Armada. I can easily see a few boats ending up in Wales etc. Maybe it’s because I only know him as an old man but for years I thought Tom Jones was half black or something

  10. Even I as a non-Brit knows that many Welsh people have dark hair and dark eyes. And they’re all called Jones 🙂

Btw,, Catherine would be my pick for perhaps the most beautiful actress in the world in time.
