In the summer my girlfriend (we are from another EU country) was raped in a club in Berlin and was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Today she received a letter from the berliner feuerwehr containing a bill of 299€ for the use of their services. She had the blue EU health insurance card with her and she showed it at the hospital. This seems wrong to me – isn't the whole point of the EU card to not have to pay for medical services? Through quick googling I found out that it may be necessary to make a co-payment of max 10€. What do you all make of this? There is a contact number to someone on the letter and I'm planning on calling that tomorrow but I figured I'd just see what you all think.
