So my family are greek migrants from Nessebar in Bulgaria. And I found this photo of my great grandfather and family. I am trying to pinpoint this place using the dome on the right hand side – I’ve been scouring churches in the rough area but I’m not finding anything matching. Does anyone have any idea? Please and TIA.

If you look at the center right, on the back there is a church. It looks like the church St. Nicolas the Wonderworker: https://maps.app.goo.gl/NXR2JG3znMRu6mj38?g_st=ic
Based on the size of the dome and the distance to it on the picture, we can assume that it is in less than or around one kilometre radius from it which would place this somewhere in the neighbourhood of Cherno More. Based on how the sun is shining on the building behind, we can conclude that the picture is took around mid day and taking into consideration how it is reflected on the dome and other objects on the picture, I would say that the picture is taker either north or south (most likely south) from the church, in less than one kilometre radius.
I myself and not from Nessebar, have not been to it and am not familiar with the city, so maybe someone from there can better say, but this would be my guess. Hope it helps you!
The palm trees in the back mean this photo was taken somewhere in the south or on the seaside. If it’s not the seaside then it must be somewhere around Sandanski or west of the Rhodope mountains – Kardjali or Harmanli, otherwise it could be anywhere on the seaside. This is completely a conjecture but the people in the photo look like they are from the west to me so I would say somewhere around Sandanski, just a guess.
Do you know if this photo is for sure in Nessebar and by any chance the date or maybe year it was taken? I’d like to help
This is some kind of seaside “hotel” from these times, most likely it was considered special, so people took a photo in front of it. There are the shades on the first floor windows/doors, which suggests something like restaurant was there and all small balconies facing in the same direction – so people can enjoy the sea view. It is not an office, they never had balconies, or at least more than one. Most likely it was destroyed and replaced with something new, so unless someone recognized it, you wouldn’t find it nowadays.
And the thing in the back is neither mosque nor church, it is the top of a gazebo like structure, so it could be in the Varna’s sea garden for example.
