Anyone aware of any business that service such items in NI. I know there are multi on the mainland but curious is we have someone here that does that kind of thing, Google’s come up blank.

I can help you with that, I’ll be back in a minute, just going for a spin in my DeLorean
Hop on in the old time machine back to 1990 and head to RadioShack don’t forget to catch the old Italia 90 on the TV maybe some crystal maze with your one
I think you’ll have more luck posting it to a specialist, I wouldn’t think the service is very common.
What’s wrong with it?
Maybe you and I can figure it out here.
Not what you want exactly , but I’ve repaired a few walkmen/personal stereos/boom boxes and its not that hard , so if its a simple problem its usually , just loose solder for the headphone or power jacks or a tape belt replacement (the rubber belt used in a lot of 80s tape players generally rots to sludge , so you have to clean that out with isopropol and then replace it ). Theres a lot of YT videos on it (Techmoan does some great ones), and a lot of the old service manuals are online as well .
Unfortuatly its really hard to find places that service old electronics , without having to ship stuff to Britain or Mainland Europe (I’m in the Republic ) , quite often its cheaper to use a service to buy from japanese yahoo auctions and get a “new” old device sadly.
Call the Ulster Museum
Check out Repair Cafe Belfast, there might be some people there that had some hands on experience fixing those.
These arnt that hard to repair normally depending what the issue is
Just buy another one I can’t believe they would be in mad demand now
It looks like it was made in the 2000s
I watched a YouTube video about a couple of hipster companies that have started making portable cassette players again. Despite modern tech, these new ones will never be as small as they used to be back in the day as there’s only one company still making one of the main mechanisms, and it’s quite large. But they’re stuck with it, as it’s not economical to produce a small one any more.
