1. One can only hope that all Israeli war criminals are brought to justice over time.

   There are still wanted war criminals being arrested and charged after the war in former Yugoslavia in the 90s.

   Even though some may go on the run or live under different identities, many will be tracked down and punished accordingly for their role in these atrocities.

   The issue will be that Israel will protect them despite (if not because of) their abhorrent crimes. And given that their broken and corrupt justice system only prosecutes [less than 1% of their soldiers’ crimes](https://apnews.com/article/israel-indictments-gaza-strip-0c1b864792101b9506c03e1a8f3990d0) and disobeys the norms of international law, it cannot be relied upon to provide any meaningful justice.

3. What I find remarkable is that there is zero mention of something like “Israel will investigate into the alleged actions of the IDF soldier in question.” I mean, it would be theater, but at least Israel would be putting on a “Hey, we’re doing something!” face…
