He was warned of a heavy troop buildup on the border. Russia claimed exercises, Ukraine urged the US to calm down everything is ok. Fool.
Biden screamed buildup but didn’t do enough to prevent it, it was a sign of weakness which started the Houthis, Israeli attack, etc when the world realized the US wasn’t standing up to bullies under Biden.
Domestic politics tend to heavily influence foreign politics. We should all remember that the Obama Administration was not actively campaigning to provide heavy weapons to Ukraine when Putin began to support the insurgency in Eastern Ukraine.
Trump, I may be wrong, also wasn’t fully on board with the Ukraine train.
It should come to no surprise that the Biden administration along with Europe were recovering from COVID lockdowns so there probably was little appetite to cause more pain via NatGas sanctions.

I fully support Ukraine but him talking as if the U.S. hasn’t done enough is silly and honestly disrespectful.
The only thing bad I could say is Biden kept him on a leash with not being able to strike back. It is sad and did nothing but help Russia. All in hopes of keeping power. When really anyone close to him had to of known he wasn’t even healthy enough to continue.
Why is anyone paying attention to Pravda? That’s like paying attention to Fox.
Its because Russia was a valable trading partner for the west and Ukraine isnt.
Ukraine was the breadbasket of Africa.
Russia supplied valabue gas, oil, and is the largest fertilizer exporter in the world. The US being their third largest customer and 20% of all US fertilizer imports last year.
The only reason he is alive is because of the US. Maybe he should be careful with his words.
The fact that their military still functions is a failure of the sanctions we have so far implemented!
Sanctions are shit with Putin and it only infuriates his populace. The only thing that works with this kind of thug is the business end of a bullet. Slava Ukraine!
Just wait until he finds out how helpful Agent Orange is going to be….LOL.
“Yeah…yeah, I’ll talk to Poutine…We’re pals! I’ll put in a good word and try to talk him down. Meanwhile don’t forget that fuckin Cayman bank account number, and have that amount transferred as soon as you can.”
Ukraine has gotten a lot of help for being a non-Nato country.
Ukraine would have been completely taken over without US intervention.
Canada has also given billions of dollars when we are having our own issues and within our borders. At some point, this is getting ridiculous saying that countries did not help them.
With international help, Ukraine has basically been upgraded to a country that could stand up to a huge powerhouse like Russia…not sure what else we can do. This is not our war to fight. The world has suffered enough from this war.
Wtf is always about the US not doing enough or something? I don’t believe in the bs “America first,” but I also don’t believe it’s always up to the US to do something. We will always do something because I would rather the US help countries whenever we can, but sometimes we have our own shit to short out before we can come to help. The fucking EU is right there, bit yet it’s America fault for not jumping in fast enough.
Also Europe: The US needs to leave us alone and mind its own business
>He also asked if Zelenskyy meant that Ukraine was not given help.
>”I believe we didn’t. We didn’t receive help. If we assume that words are help, well, then yes, we received a lot of it, because there were plenty of words,” the president responded.
If the US hasn’t helped, it won’t matter when trump puts a stop to the aide?
First time? Oh right, guy was a literal comedian before taking office.
News media presented “experts” in finance who made bold claims that through sanctions Russia would not be able to manage longer than months let alone years…
I gather that blockchain technology is a controversial topic stemming from crypto exchange, but is it naive to think that if we did have a transparent ledger in place that the public would be able to track the flow of funds? If I understand the concept of a blockchain ledger correctly, which I am not confident.
This is very sad and troubling that governments didn’t stick to their word.
Heh, I’d like to get his opinion on his preparations for the war. How many Neptun missiles were built, how many bulletproof vests were bought since 2019, who was the head of SBU and where he is now etc.
Yes, the world didn’t react to occupation of Crimea at all, but this guy wanted to have peace/settle with putin before 2022 and did everything not to upset putin.
As i’ve said before. If an article makes US angry with EU or vice versa, it’s most likely meant to do so. Who would have motive to divide us? We’re not enemies, let’s not fight. We all know who the enemy is. We can do the WAY less important chatting about who did what, who owes who what, who should have done better and so on, AFTER our common enemy has been defeated.
Again, if it’s divisive between us, it’s most likely propaganda. Don’t let it work.
Edit: Just look at the comments here. You all could be right for what i care, but look how you’re all arguing between yourselves? Now who would want that?
I watching the Lex Fridman podcast with Volodymyr Zelenskyy right now, it’s actually really interesting.
I mean the biggest issue with this is if the U.S. imposed sanctions beforehand then what’s the downside for Putin to invade? The entire calculus was if we threaten crippling sanctions it will dissuade Putin from invading, but if we placed those same sanctions on them for threatening to invade then they’ve already suffered the consequences they would get from invading.
Sha ba sha Commander
They still are.
Putin is personally responsible for 3 shot down civilian planes, multiple other attempts and over 1 million dead or injured.
It is outrageous that this singular person is not being treated the same way an exiled saudi prince like Osama…
Osama was evil, but he’s a saint compared to the size and scope of issues Putin causes on a monthly, weekly and daily basis across the world.
Africa, check.
Syria, check.
Isreal, check,
Hezbolla, check.
The list goes on.
He has to go.
The UN must enforce a no fly, no ship zone around Russia and extend sanctions to violators.
Treat Arming Russia with drone and electronics as the same equivalent as giving them uranium…
Ouch. Whatever else this is, it’s bad optics.
(But don’t treat it as an excuse to forget the tens of thousands of abducted children, the attacks on power infrastructure during winter, the Russians’ use of chemical weapons among countless other war crimes, or the fact that the dictatorships of the world are watching this all the time and measuring the west’s resolve by it.)
I remember when Zelenskyy’s response was ridicule and sarcasm towards US warnings of an imminent invasion:
“Some have been trying to frighten us by war,” he said. “They’ve even named the concrete date of invasion. This is not the first time.”
He definitely has stepped up since, but this ridicule of American support, which has been supporting Ukraine and their interests since before they even knew or believed it, is somewhat dismaying.
a bit of sense of entitlement there, Z? We arent under any obligation to do anything for you. “Words” from an American administration can be quite powerful. Youre not the only nation in the world that asks us for help, and you dont have a 36 trillion dollar debt.
I agree fucken sanctions did jack shit to Russia. Sure their economy in rubbles oh look they still getting a bunch of shit for weapons.
Oh look Israel gonna get bombarded with missiles! Oh look the US help shoot down the missiles! Yay
Can we do the same for Ukraine? Nope
Oh you wanna use long range missiles we provide to ya? Nope let’s wait to the end of the election.
Oh ok you can now
Fuck this shit
So it is now, according to Zelensky, the fault of the US that Russia invaded. If the US had first imposed sanctions, it wouldn’t have happened. What a totally ungrateful and pathetic POS this dwarf slug is
I still remember watching on the news how Biden said back in Jan of 2022 that Russia will be held accountable if the forces they amassed on the Ukrainian border would be put to full use, but if it’s more of an incursion then we not gonna do anything.
Was like – omg this moron just gave Russia a green light to invade Ukraine!!!!
did he just realize that conman lies constantly and that hes not trustworthy ?
