Everything seems more manageable after a cuppa

  1. Honestly makes a lot of sense. Sit down, calm down, stop panicking, give people a chance to find you.

  2. Well, yeah.

You’re still lost as hell in the jungle, but you’re lost as hell in the jungle *with a cup of tea*, and that’s an improvement.

  3. Well that’s how Britain won the world. The loss of territory is proportional to the rise of decaf tea.

  4. Sound advice. First of all just getting more lost is not going to improve anything. Secondly, dehydration is going to make you confused before long – so tea is going to help avoid that.

Finally, taking time to plan what to do next is going to eliminate many bad moves that you may have made as a reaction to getting lost.

  5. It’s a sensible thing to do. You’re in a shit and stressful situation where if you keep doing what you’re doing you’ll make it worse, but a short break wont cause an issue.

Something to force you to stop for a while, and make you feel better, sets you up for a better outcome and gives you chance to check the situation and come up with a better plan.

Good strategy for most issues in life.

  6. What else would one do?

” I’ve got lunatics laughing at me from the woods. My original plan has been scuppered now that the jeeps haven’t arrived. My communications are completely broken down. Do you really believe any of that can be helped by a cup of tea?”

  7. Its nothing to do with the tea itself, it’s about avoiding panic.
Stay calm, observe your surroundings, make an informed decision.

  8. Yeah makes sense

Also we make sure all tanks are built with tea making facilities because we kept losing guys while they were trying to make tea outside the tank

  9. Clarity of thought is important. This is fantastic advice

  10. A big part of the inspection on field craft exercises is having a cup of tea

  11. I’m sure the jaguar getting ready to chew your face off will be polite enough to wait until the hallowed tea ritual has been completed.

  12. Solid advice. You make sounder decisions when relaxed and calm.

  13. Also hard to think and plan when panicking so a cuppa should fix you right up.

  14. Every british warfare op starts and ends with “stick the kettle on”.

  15. That will also draw out the Predator who you then offer a cuppa & a biscuit

  16. It’s actually very sensible advice. If you’re lost, instead of just trekking onwards into the unknown getting more lost, stop for 5-10 minutes and have a think while the water boils (gives you time to think) and also drinking the tea will help hydrate you to help keep confusion caused by dehydration.

  17. A dose of caffeine and L-theanine with a bit of sugar, exactly what a tired brain needs in fact.. in time to reappraise the situation.
