1. I’d like to preempt this by saying I find this disgusting and abhorrent, but I must say that the business model to appeal to the stupid and the vain is really quite ingenious.

   I do fear for the state of our future generations though. I grew up being taught not to talk to/take sweets from strangers as a young child, can’t believe we need to tell teenagers to not take cosmetic enhancements from them.

   **ETA:** I’m not blaming vulnerable kids, I think society has failed.

2. They offer kids material goods, a sense of belonging and a sense of purpose they so often lack. It is how gangs have always operated and county lines is no different.

3. My local county lines man got me set up with a job at 16. The DWP can’t say the same.

4. When ‘the system’ doesn’t offer hope, even if you can get a job, are we really surprised people are easily lured elsewhere?

5. The male equivalent is giving young lads expensive electric bikes.
