  1. Probably left to rot.

Multiple governments will promise multiple ideas, but in reality they aren’t interested as it’s not Cardiff, London or Edinburgh.

Be better for most of the laid off staff to start looking for work outside uk as there is nothing in south wales hiring anytime soon.

The new wind farms are skeleton crews and maintenance work is brought in from Europe.

National grid, wales and west, Welsh water and national gas all run skeleton crews to make more money for share holders.

Companies like Dow Corning in Barry barely ever hire.

And the new power station at rhigos is skeleton crewed, the new power factor correction at Felindre Swansea will have no day to day manning and the proposed battery back up at the same substation is also minimal maintenance team.

A lot of the techs and skilled staff can get jobs contracting for companies like c&p or hornbill but the operators are probably going to struggle to get similar paid jobs

  2. I know Llanwern wasn’t the size of Port Talbot and I am out of the loop, but how big a hit did Newport take, and how fast (or did it) bounce back?
