Thomas Markle’s statements on Meghan’s first marriage
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Thomas Markle shared his thoughts on Meghan’s past marriage to film producer Trevor Engelson. The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in Jamaica on September 10, 2011, after dating for nearly a decade. However, their marriage ended in divorce just two years later.
Thomas noted, “I really liked Trevor. I don’t think he ever understood why she dumped him either.” His comments suggest a belief that perhaps Meghan should not have left the American film financier and married a British prince of whom he knows little to date.
Despite his criticism of Meghan’s choices, Thomas Markle made it clear that his love for her remains unchanged. He stated, “I love her and that will never change. I love all my children.” However, he also expressed a sense of resignation regarding his relationship with his grandchildren,
