The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued a Weather Watch over the next five days, as cold temperatures are anticipated across the state.
A Weather Watch is a notification in advance of a forecast of significant weather. Officials believe that there might be a higher electrical demand this week, but the grid is still expected to be normal. ERCOT added that there is no current expectation of an energy emergency, but it will continue to monitor the situation.
