Did nobody know this already? Same with old people care homes.
For-profit / profit driven ways of organising might be ‘best’ (for everyone) in certain situations and sectors etc but probably not in others.. such as this, healthcare, care work etc
Its sad that our organisation has been largely reduced to profit generation. There’s more to humanity than this.
Why the actual fuck are we putting children’s social care out to private companies?
Ffs what is wrong with these people.

Dip children in North Sea crude. Then excessive profits will be acceptable.
The result being that children from the SW end up in Herefordshire or Manchester or even Scotland. There is a shortage of places because there actually isn’t *that* much profit in providing care for especially vulnerable children. Which most of them are.
When was making a profit ever going to be the best thing for children in care?
There has always been profit in the care system, since even before the export days. it’s a corrupt system and unfortunately I doubt there is any real way to fix it.
Believe there are despicable heartless providers out there willing to make a quick buck out of the misery of young people. Knew one accommodation provider who would constantly bill the council for minor repairs for thousands and it would come out of the budget that was meant for improving the lives of those in local authority care.
I don’t even want it to get cheaper. I just want the childcare providers in my local area to get all of that money so they can buy a luxury yacht and park it in our dock.
The rise in NI, supposedly due to rising social care costs, has been for what then, exactly? Social bailouts for private profits once again.
Because they make vast profits of the state who take children of there parents it’s a fact , criminal it’s going back to the 50s 60s70s when children were deported too Australia Canada totally criminal!!!
