Councillor delaying metro “Two Charlemont stations”
Here's an update on the latest attempts by Irish politicians attempting to delay the delivery of metro so they can get votes.
1⃣ Few weeks ago A Dublin City Councillor submitted a motion calling for an independent assessment of why the Metro is ending at Charlemont.

Who is this person?
Can we name this person?
Sorry lads. Thought the councillor was mentioned in the tweet. Here’s the original from Cllr Lacey himself.

Lacey is and always has been an absolute gobshite.
He can’t be serious. Does he not understand how in every city that there is a metro that a station can have even more than 2 entrances?
Can a councilor realistically hold this up? If the majority of the council give it the green light or say he’s talking nonsense, wouldn’t that effectively make this no issue?
Can someone explain to me why spending €3bn+ on 12 miles of an urban railway is such a necessity? I mean like, I know for some reason almost every r/Ireland redditor thinks it’s the bees knees but I fail to see what’s so great about it.
He obviously hasn’t been to a single city with a metro if he thinks that every entrance is it’s own station.
>”When explained that there is only one station, just two entrances, they said an entrance North of the canal is ‘effectively a second station’
But it isn’t, It’s two staircases, one station, both south of the canal.
But they still refuse to withdraw the motion.”
I’ve got two ears – does this mean I’ve effectively got a second head?
This is incredibly depressing. I can’t even tell you how deflated this makes me feel.
Can we just kill them at this stage
Labour Party, didn’t expect that one.
