The Latvian public broadcaster LTV has confirmed it has no intention of participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Latvia has confirmed it will not be participating in the 2025 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, having made its last appearance a decade ago. LTV confirmed to Eurofestivales that the broadcaster will not be taking part in the contest this year.
Latvia was one of the countries that competed in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, and it competed annually until 2005. The country returned for two years between 2010 and 2011 and has not competed in the years since.
Junior Eurovision 2025
Andria Putkaradze from Georgia won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Madrid with “To My Mom”. Unlike at the Eurovision Song Contest next year’s host is not automatically the winner of the last contest. The EBU is working with all interested broadcasters and will announce a host in the coming weeks.

In addition, Croatia and Lithuania are both examining returns to the competition in 2025. Estonia, however, has confirmed it will withdraw due to budget cuts at the broadcaster. The following broadcasters have confirmed they have no plans to return:

Latvia was one of the original sixteen countries to take part in the first edition of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen, Denmark. They competed in the contest between 2003 and 2005 and from 2010 to 2011. Latvia’s best result remains their first entry in the contest in 2003 performed by Dzintars Čīča. “Tu esi vasarā” placed 9th with 37 points.
