QUINCY, Ill. (KHQA) — The Great River Economic Development Foundation, Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, and The District announced 65 new small businesses opened in Adams County in 2024.

“The excitement of new businesses opening here in Adams County just shows that Adams County is a great place to do business, and more businesses mean more jobs, and money being injected back into our local economy,” Great River Economic Development Foundation Vice President Madison Peters said.

With businesses leaving or closing as well, it made for a net gain of 29 new businesses in Adams County.

“I think the community is excited and, we want to support both the new businesses, but also the established businesses as well,” Peters said.

One of Quincy’s new establishments is the KC Range, which has seen early success after opening in August 2024.

“It’s been great. I think that as people come in here once, they keep coming back. When one person comes, they send three more people at it. It’s just really great to see the growth here,” Partner Trevor Beck said.

Beck believes more business coming to town this past year will help the area grow.

“Having amenities like this really contribute to attractions to bring people into Quincy. And the more attractions that we have, it definitely will help,” Beck said.
