I’m a former reporter (left the business in the mid-2000s) and at that time my editors would tell me, if people called and told me they were going to sue so-and-so, I was to tell them, “If you file something with the courts let us know. That’s when we’ll write something.” I guess the thinking was anyone can say they’re going to sue. It’s really only news if they actually do it.

  11. Lots of talk, not as much action. There’s a reason why they went after NYT first and not Lively herself. IMO, it’s because Baldoni doesn’t have a strong case but wanted to try to salvage his reputation by including additional context in the NYT suit (which I personally didn’t find disproved Lively’s claims, but whatever, it worked on a lot of people). When Baldoni dropped his lawsuit, his lawyer made a snarky remark that obviously Lively was just messing around and didn’t plan to drop an actual lawsuit…but she did immediately after lol.

  19. Even if they had evidence of her being a bully, does that exonerate him from the claims of sexual assault from her and others on set? I’m not sure why they’re taking this angle. All it’s doing is making him look like a jackass for trying to discredit her when her claims seemed pretty solid from her filing.

  30. I was someone who got heavily downvoted when the first “breaking news” about this came out. I considered Justin the victim over Blake because money talks and while Justin had a billionaire? friend Blake and Ryan are very well known and very powerful in the industry currently.

    That being said. While I understand that, when it comes to court and lawsuits you have to keep things close to the vest, im really not liking this whole “gonna release all of the texts” or whatever without even one text being leaked.

    This is basically JD and AH again, both being shitty people, and I’m taking back my defense of Justin baldoni that I initially had until we see all of these texts that supposedly exist. And I still think both are shitty people, but it is seeming more and more like Blake probably is telling the truth.
