Wow a whole £50 ! That’ll go fuckin far.
Great, now they gotta buy a cap too?
some schools have no uniform policy why aren’t all schools like that?
seems like its just a reason to prop up a failing business.
Stop schools branding clothes, and we will save more that £50. 85 quid it cost me for a frigging P.E. kit this year for my son.
The only bad things about this is that it was not put in place decades ago – and does not go far enough. Not sure why anything needs branding – surely a badge sewn on would do? There have been constant stories in the press about schools that insist on specific suppliers that end up costing £200+ – when the ASDA equivalent would have been more like £30 (numbers pulled out of my ass – but broadly representative).
Why not just set a price cap for everything? They could publish it in a big book and everything. They could just ban schools requiring branded clothing of course but no lets have a price cap that is much more socialist.
When I was in school our uniform could be bought from one shop only. It was expensive in the early 2000’s, I dread to think how much it costs now. We had a very specific pin stripe shirt that could not be bought elsewhere additionally we wore kilts instead of skirts, branded blazers, branded jumpers and had a uniform for PE. It was so over the top for a South London state school.
