The whole Wales family is understood to be mad about football. In autumn last year, Mike Tindall revealed on his podcast that Prince George ‘loves’ the sport and that the pair have played together ‘numerous times in the garden’ – adding that, like his father, George is a devout Aston Villa fan. ‘He’s passionate about Aston Villa,’ said Tindall. ‘Wherever he is, he’ll sit down and watch that game.’

Prince George has attended a series of football games with Prince William in the past, including an Aston Villa game in April 2024 and the Euros in July – at which both father and son could be seen sweetly mirroring each other’s expressions as they watched, spirits and anxiety high, from the stands.

Like his brother, Louis is a keen amateur footballer; in October, the Princess of Wales was spotted cheering him on at a local game. Kate could be seen chatting happily to other parents as she supported her son, as one delighted royal fan shared in a video on TikTok. For her low-key outing, the Princess donned comfortable, warm clothes that she had worn before, including a Barbour, chocolate brown flares, boots and a tweed baker boy cap from Really Wild Clothing. ‘She looked comfortable. She looked like she didn’t have much makeup on. She was obviously trying to stay hidden with the cap and the clothing, but everyone knew it was her,’ the TikTok user said.
