China’s promotion of Russian disinformation indicates where its loyalties lie

  1. Off course China is pro putin. We need to start to boycott those ccp fucks too!

The time we thought that trade, scientific cooperation etc will let them see the benefits of our way off live is over. All those totalitarian systems understand is strength and power.

  2. China has lost so much goodwill during this war. Definitely not worth it if it hurts their trade with Europe (which it hopefully will).

  3. Chinas loyalties lie primarily with China. They‘re doing a bit of a dance between the fronts because at the one side they don‘t wanna lose access to western markets and on the other show their allies, who are often autocracies with a distaste for the west aswell, that they stand up to NATO and would protect them.

  4. Is there ANYONE who seriously thought that it would be different?
They view the western liberal democracies as a rival and are keen to promote their own ideology in the world much like we westeners tried to bring liberal democracy into other parts of the world.

They will obviously side with a nation that also views liberal-democratic values as a threat.

  5. well ye, when i saw that chinese steam users were review bombing games that supported ukraine i knew that the chinese propaganda machine was on russia’s side

  6. China’s benefit is an unstable US, EU and Russia. They are for themselves, and their trading leverages. They support Russia just enough to get through as “support”, but will happily throw them to the lions if that means more.

Letting Russia dig themselves in is a perfect play.

  7. The thing about autocracies is that they slowly descend into shit holes as the leader becomes more and more paranoid and power hungry. The standard of living peaked in Russia the late 2000s, and has begun to collapse ever since. Likewise I can see a similar aspect happening to China has debt continues to rise. But we’ll see…

  8. The West sticks it’s head in the sand even worse with China than we did Russia.

China literally has a public manifesto to achieve military supremecy in the next ten years and to take back Taiwan, inevitably by force, five years afterwards.

They openly create landing ships, conduct regular military flights, and showcase films of China invading Taiwan.

Of course Chinese loyalties are with Russia in this. Duh?

  9. Well duh, did you think they’d be close with the west? China does business with everyone, it beats capitalism at its own game. And while the west sanctions Russia, they move to Chinese accounts and businesses.

It’s the “off-shore” for US companies, the “helping hand” in Africa and Pacific Islands, a trading partner for Europe and others…they will end up #1.

  10. Chinas loyalties, like russias loyalties, lie in destabilising the rest of the world covertly and reaping the benefits. They are loyal only to themselves.

  11. Must be embarrassing loosing also against China for the Russian “Empire”. Be clever Russians, let democratic ideology help you instead of another despots. Atleast we could compromise, China not that much. But I guess stupidity is the best ideology for Russia now`?

  12. Europe and the West, as well as the rest of the world, must divest from China.

We cannot continue to rely on dictatorships for our livelihoods.

  13. I suppose dictators will stick together, as long as their interests align. I mean, the more widespread democracy is, the more threatened they feel, so they’ll huddle up together like rats in a nest.

But it’s quite scary to see how these countries lie to the public, and it’s more scary if the public lap it up without thinking. I could perhaps imagine Putin getting overthrown in Russia at some stage, but I can’t imagine a revolution in China any time soon.

I might be completely wrong of course but that’s the feeling I get. The Chinese government just seems too strong and stable to get overthrown, and they’d probably be less reluctant to mow down protestors with tanks than the Russian military are.

    Scary times.

  14. Not really surprising. China is even more autocratic than Russia. They can form their own little club with Belarus and North Korea.
