In depth: Élisabeth Borne, France’s prime minister from May 2022 to January 2024, has been appointed to lead a French education ministry that includes higher education and research for the first time since 2017. Philippe Baptiste, who was previously head of the French space agency CNES, was appointed junior minister for higher education and research, reporting to Borne.
