Came across this on Bluesky and figured it may be interesting. To me this is the most insane policy I have seen peddled in years.

  7. Oklahoma is complex like many states. It has nonprofit utilities, for profit, several SPP zones, and tribal sovereignty.

    This is astroturfing, and astroturf is made of plastic, it does not depend on sunlight.

    Utilities are economic players, customers don’t like increased rates, SPP has many other areas to source renewables, so whatever extremes happen will be corrected after economic damage to Oklahoma citizens.

  17. I am curious. How do supporters of this policy get round the LCOE data for renewables vs fossil fuels? Oh… yeah… they just ignore it I guess. Wait until neighbouring states have cheaper power. Their fossil fuel power plants will often be too expensive to use, so I wonder what power companies will build fossil plants when electricity from renewables in neighbouring states is cheaper?
