Nobody with a brain is surprised the budget will hit everybody.
Pretty ridiculous headline. Of course businesses will complain about salaries going up but keeping them low is also not an option.

They did say it had to get worse before it got better. Here’s hoping the “get worse” part is as short as possible, but I’m not optimistic.
The assertion food prices would ever go down is a fallacy.
Capitalism exists to extract as much disposable income from each individual customer without losing business. As soon as wages go up, prices will go up to hack away at any disposable (or even not) income to take into account spending power.
The “cost of living crisis” is never going to go away while we live in a late capitalist society. Prices will never go down unless they’re actively suppressed or subsidised by government
