From the services in my area this would be one of the cheapest.
Looks good, actually very good prices
their prices for the motor oil and break fluid are quite high, but the rest is a normal price for an inspection.
The “Klopfgeräusch” is probably something stuck in or to a wheel. Maybe a stone or nail in the tyre.
I would say this is fair price, for some areas even cheap. So you are good 🙂
Hopefully this helps to understand it a bit better. “AW” indicates labor, typically charged in units of time or tasks. For any Germans out there, if there’s a mistake somewhere, let me know so I can update it.

Complete checkup for less than EUR 200 is fine. Pretty good even.
Doesn’t look crazy expensive, tbh.
Good Price
A friend of mine did a service on his Mercedes before selling it at Mercedes, because the customer wanted it like that, and the service was over about 900€ and he brought the oil himself. So the price that you have is quite good, especially since the oil is included. As a tip you can ask the next time if you can bring your own oil, that could save you a couple of Euros.
…my dear child. This is cheap af.
Soon you will learn hiw exoensive a car will be here.
This looks all pretty sensible. I would assume that the worked hours (“AW”) are standardized (usually the OEMs have catalogues how many hours to bill for what parts/service), so really no “price gouging” possible here.
The overall price seems very competitive. I assume that was a free garage and not an authorized dealer?
You paid roughly 230 bucks in Labor, so something like 2 hours, the rest is just parts and such. The only thing that seems a little expensive to me are the spark plugs but not in any offensive amount.
So for a full service, this is a very fair price.
That is if you wanted a Service.
Did you ask for a Service or did you just want the knocking to be diagnosed?
They couldn’t replicate the knocking according to this.
I didn’t really check any of the items, but you had some professional car related service done and the total is five hundred something. That sounds like it’s on the cheaper side actually.
Something in general:
Depending on which type of dealership you go to, brand or independent, the prices will obviously be different. A service for a merc will usually cost more than for a VW Polo.
Unless you are going to the shadiest back alley chop shop, you won’t be ripped off. IF something was done and, for some reason, turns out to have been unnecessary, in 19/20 cases it was either someone not following the service instructions correctly, a paper mistake somewhere or something like that, a genuine mistake.
Just bring it up nicely and in most cases they will change the price for you.
I have been driving here for over 30 years, not once have I been ripped off, as in actually someone trying to cheat, not a genuine mistake. I don’t go to shady back alley places though, mainly brand or independent, depending on the vehicle. Hourly rates for independents are usually lower, I only go to the brand ones for warranty of my newer cars.
