She’s right but it won’t come. The housing market could really do with a few hundred thousand house and driving people onto the streets is cheaper than building new ones.
She’s right of course but I’d prefer it was Rishi Sunak saying it.
Asking Tories to actually help the poor? King Cnut would be proud.
Quite right. An adult on JSA or ESA will be getting just £4 more than what they would have been getting 5 years ago.
Shame she joined in trashing Corbyn with the rest of the Guardian journalists when he was campaigning on the cost of living crisis for 5 years…
That’s it stick a plaster on the wound and hope it heals, why not sort the problem, take control of the energy barons
The Tories do seem very fond of her, they invite her to speak to them often.
Perhaps its because she promote the idea that you can feed your self and family on a pittance, they like that kind of thinking.
Whats Anti poverty Campaigner actually mean BTW?
Help has been needed for the last decade and it is still yet to come, causing more hardship and more families to slip into poverty. If it has not come yet, there is an almost certain guarantee that it never will, not while the Tories are firmly in power at least. Levelling up is a mindless piece of jargon, not a concrete promise, it means nothing to the average person and more needs to be done to stop the Tories getting away with such slogans.
Is my understanding that everyone from top to bottom are having cuts so everyone is having a hard time?
Just want to point out, Jack goes by ‘they’, not ‘she’.
I did not know who she was but I was kind of hoping she was a PM or whatever that was brave enough to speak out for the citizens. Sorry.
