  1. It was more thinkable than cancelling Cheltenham, which probably cost the UK a few thousand dead.

  2. I remember there was one week when the mood changed completely. It was around then, it went from ‘aww it’s a shame they had to cancel it but best to be safe’ to like 4/5 days later. ‘It was unthinkable they would have a parade’.

  3. As an American: I remember seeing an article online stating that Ireland had announced the pubs would be closed up for Covid and thinking “Fuck me it’s serious now.”
