Dehradun, 7 Jan: The state government has announced the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for ‘C’ grade Malta and Hill Lemon (Galgala) for the financial year 2024-25, aiming to ensure fair prices for the state’s fruit growers. For the year 2024-25, the MSP for ‘C’ grade Malta has been fixed at Rs 10 per kilogram, while the MSP for Hill Lemon (Galgala) has been set at Rs 7 per kilogram.

This approval has been granted by Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi in the official files. The order for declaring the MSP will be issued soon.

The MSP for ‘C’ grade Malta has been increased from Rs 9 per kilogram in the financial year 2023-24 to Rs 10 per kilogram. Similarly, the MSP for Hill Lemon (Galgala) has been raised from Rs 6 to Rs 7 per kilogram.

Joshi expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and stated that the government is continuously working towards the welfare of farmers and doubling their income. Minister Joshi emphasised that this decision will not only ensure fair prices for fruit growers but will also give local fruits a new identity. He added that various important welfare schemes are being implemented to ensure holistic development in agriculture and horticulture, leading to a qualitative increase in the income of farmers.
