Hello, I have been trying to figure out how to file my tax return. I married in April 2021 and I don’t understand if I can file jointly or am I obligated to file separately since we were not married for the whole year. I made a simulation on [taxx.lu](https://taxx.lu) and apparently we should pay around 2k. I am not sure if this is correct, at least I hope not.
And is it even mandatory for us to file our taxes, since we were not married for the whole year?

You can file a joint declaration. It’s for PACS that there is an obligation to have it the whole year.
