Nelli Matula has released “Hitaammin hautaan” (Slowly towards the grave), her entry for Uuden Musikiin Kilpailu 2025.

Nelli Matula was born in Espoo. During her time in school, she was cast in one of the main roles in Mary Poppins in the Helsinki City Theatre. She also spent time as an exchange student in Switzerland.

Nelli released her first single “Kato vaan” in July 2016. Her second single “Lemmikki” was her breakthrough hit in October 2016. In 2019, she released her debut album “Jumalatar”, which was nominated for Pop Album of the Year at the Emma Gala. Her second album “Kiltti tyttĂ¶â€ was released in 2022.

January 13 – Costee
January 14 – VIIVI
January 15 – One Morning Left
January 16 – Goldielocks
January 17 – Erika Vikman

The UMK 2025 entries released

UMK 2025 will be held on February 8 in the Nokia Arena in Tampere. UMK will be held in Tampere for the fourth time and in the Nokia Arena, the largest indoor arena in Finland, for the second time.

Finland was represented by Windows95man in the final of Eurovision 2024 with “No Rules!”. Finland placed 19th in the final scoring a total of 38 points.

Finland first participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1961. They debuted alongside Spain and Yugoslavia. Finland has finished last in the contest on 10 occasions and has received ‘nul points’ three times. It wasn’t until 2006 that Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest. Lordi represented the country in Athens with the song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” scoring 292 points, a record total at the time.
