There’s always been work available, the problem is alot of it doesn’t pay well enough and alot of homeless people have mental health issues that make them unsuitable for a working environment instead they should be in a care environment getting the help they need.
Another benefit of not having extreme open borders, the less fortunate get a chance. Maybe employers can raise wages to pay for lockdown inflation too.
