Change those tyres which are missing studs, for your safety, and others too.
The tyres on the same axel must be identical by model and condition. If two tyres are in good condition, you may keep them on one axel and buy two new ones for the other axel. If all are poor, e.g. thread depth under 3 mm, then replace all four tyres with new ones.
Yank off some studs
Or use studless
You can also just pull all the studs out from every tire. For some reason that is acceptable and will net in a pass from inspection.
Just get new tyres
Just remove all the rest of studs and You are good for inspection. This how Finland works.
Just put in summer tiers
Btw, the cheapest time of year to buy new winter tyres is now.
Do the inspection with summer tires, then go look for new winter tires.
when i got this i pulled out every stud out of every tire and no more difference in studs. stupid loopholes are there to be used
The guy inspecting my car said that you have to have about the same amount of studs on each tire. As I had only a couple studs left across all tires I was good.
Still had lots of thread left.
Just remove all studs and youll have new summer tires
Change them. The rubber hardens and old tores are not very good even if legal.
