Higher energy bills ‘almost inevitable’ says Ofgem

  1. Again?

Its already gone up by £700 ffs.

We basically dont have the heating on anymore. Thermals, hoodies being in bed instead of living room.

No kids which makes it easier. And gf about to land a job which will take pressure off.

2 pints of green milk has gone from 89p to 96p…

    Its literally everything.

1 month of £150 off council tax doesnt help.

  2. A decade of Tory decay followed by two global disasters will do this. Tories strip and dismantle the country for personal greed while helping foreign agents profit from it and then when something bad actually happens they’ve removed everything designed to protect the people.

  3. > Britain’s oil and gas supplies are secure due to North Sea reserves, he said. But oil and gas extracted from the North Sea is not owned by the UK itself, but by the oil and gas companies which drill for it.

    > Those products are then sold on the global market which has been volatile, even before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Sounds about typical and normal Tory practise… let private companies rape the UK’s natural resources and make vast profits while the public / the UK get fuck all benefit out of it

  4. I don’t think this is gonna go in the energy companies favour.

Energy is the only people can just outright refuse to spend money on. Landlords are gonna have to take a massive L and have damp ruin their properties.

  5. Energy companies need to be re-nationalised. We can’t have these energy companies keeping their profits intact when people are struggling to keep warm.

But we have a tory government and they care more of profit than people so I won’t hold my breath.

  6. We’ve had 50 years of low energy costs. That’s coming to an end. Welcome to the new normal. Maybe we’ll actually make some progress on emissions now.
