  1. Not any of the ones from Tine.. Heidal makes the best brunost imo

  2. I like fløtemysost the best! But also Gudbrandsdalen is good.

  3. Out of Tine Gudbrandsdalsost is the best. Especially in sauces!

  4. The «regular» one is the bottom one on page 4, called G35. The dark ones are much more heavy in flavour, and the lighter ones called Fløtemysost are lighter in flavour

  5. I like Fløtemysost as it does not contain goat’s milk

  6. Fløtemysost. From other brands, Haslemo makes delicious goat cheese (small producer, available only certain places)

  7. Fløtemys if you want mild caramelized flavor or Gudbrandsdalsost if you want a more of the stronger goat cheese taste. Both are good.

I don’t know which but if you pick some of those with a stronger flavor than that you might don’t like them. I remember as a child I ate some strong brown cheese and it wasn’t good at all.

  8. The title should read “Types of brunost”, as Gudbrandsdalsost is one of the types of brunost. My favourite is Julebrunost, sweet and with added spices. Or maybe Geitost? The most important difference is the amount of cows and goats milk, I guess.

  9. Stay away from Inherred unless you’re in for something really special 😬

The taste is something that reminds of brown cheese, with an aftertaste of used coffee ground.

  10. Geitost – the blue one. But the ones bought at farmers market is even better

  11. I like Fløtemysost best. More of the caramel and less of the goaty taste so also most likely a beginners favorite.
