  1. Well yeah, they swore to follow orders etc and have active military contracts, oaths etc to uphold.

Thr militeis not something you can just quit because you feel like it once your sworn in and so.

If they left service and are no longer contracted to service in United kingdom Armed forces / Crown service then they are free to make that choice.

  2. It’s never a good idea to join a foreign military/war. Your country disowns you if you get into trouble and will likely arrest/kill you if you find yourself on the wrong side of its political/military alliances.

  3. So it’s fine if this government does illegal things for the wrong reasons, but they won’t stand for people doing illegal things for the right reasons?

  4. Britain is basically on Putin’s side and is just making the right noises to look like they are on the side of the free world. It’s disgraceful.

  5. It’s no use stating this when some have already gone. It might stop a few but those who needed to hear this most are already going to be in Ukraine, or at least en route. I suspect Truss did not expect people to actually go and fight as mercenaries, making her feel comfortable in claiming no one would be charged if they went and fought in Ukraine. Time just proved her to be more of a fool than she already seems.

  6. I wonder how that will play out. A £2.99 fine and have to say you are sorry?

Or just stay in Ukraine afterwards as they are offering citizenship.

  7. If COVID has shown us anything, it’s that nothing is really illegal if you don’t want it to be. Except maybe upsetting the rich, powerful or tabloid editors.
